I think this is where you get to know me better.
So no work stuff here.
I just hope that's a good idea...
this is where the magic happens
this is why sometimes the magic doesn't happen
I came up in a little college town, just north of Charlotte, North Carolina.
The son of a lovely tenor, and nephew of a world class bluegrass banjo player (and historian) I got music in me early. In my 40s, I started writing for, and leading, the Durham band Tiny House, and joined the acoustic community after giving in and learning guitar.
The past decade has featured:
Tiny House has played in such settings as Earthday events, the Scrap Exchange's Smashfest, the Oxford Ambulance Chase (annual EMS fundraiser), a bear-thing in New Bern and a benefit for a cancer patient in Wilson.
A life long blood donor (Give platelets!), I have had the honor of supporting my communities in a number of musical ways including organizing the music for Durham's Book Harvest MLK Day and Summer Block Party events.
Other ways I've served:

The tiny house movement advocates for living simply in small, efficiently designed homes typically under 400 square feet, emphasizing minimalism, sustainability, and affordability. It has gained popularity as a response to rising housing costs, environmental concerns, and the desire for greater financial freedom and mobility.
Right! The Durham alt-americana outfit is made up of adults with kids and jobs so they don't practice a lot, and play shows even less. But when they get together it is a creative explosion.
Kind of.
Their February 2020 release, The Ordinary, can be found on all the streaming platforms (like Spotify).
But the attempted "launch" of the release fell victim to a pandemic.
The band is going through some line-up changes (also effected by federal funding cuts) and hopes to get back out there soon.
Also, Ben, the lead singer and song writer, has some stuff on Instagram
Don't you think you've learned enough?
If you want more go over to the Tiny House website. There's normally something happening there.
